Description

An important Diageo malt distillery that provides essential fillings to a number of its blended Scotch brands, including Johnnie Walker and White Horse. As such, it is rarely seen officially bottled as a single malt and is today only available as part of the Flora & Fauna range. Perhaps one of Scotland's most important whisky companies, Gordon & MacPhail is a historic blender, independent bottler. This Linkwood 1946 36-Year-Old, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail, is a remarkable single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region, distilled in the post-war era and matured for 36 years.

Nose
Rich aromas of juicy sultanas and sherry, complemented by hints of wood shavings, pine oil, subtle notes of rubber, leather, and a touch of cereal sweetness. Floral, perfume-like, with sweet green meadow, old books, and pine needles.
Palate
Full-bodied and smooth, featuring an abundance of fruit flavors. The oak imparts chewy tannins, accompanied by a dark nuttiness and mixed citrus peels. Floral and sweet sherry, with a strong sour-sweet wood taste, like plums and sherry. Melons, dates, mild oak notes.
Finish
Long and fruity, with a pronounced oak presence. Lingering sour-sweet flavor, with oak notes.
