Description

This expression from Linkwood distillery was bottled from two American oak barrels and two hogsheads. Matured for ten years, this bottling showcases Linkwood's elegant character. It is a quintessential Speyside and classic Linkwood in its purest form, with no bells or whistles. Such a precisely crafted example, the gorgeous medium-light gold color leads to a very bright, fresh nose with citrus zest and invigorating salt spray as the beautifully pure, clean malt takes center stage.

Nose
Bright, fresh nose with citrus zest and invigorating salt spray, pure, clean malt, apple and pear, sweet cereal undertones, luscious hints of honeydew melon.
Palate
Rich side of the malt, light salinity and lemon curd flavors, deep, well-rounded barrel notes like cinnamon pie crust cookies and light toffee.
Finish
Candied ginger and herbal tea. After about 45 minutes, the empty glass was all chocolate fudge brownie aromas.
