Description

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society was founded in Edinburgh in 1983 by Phillip 'Pip' Hills. This is a 9-year-old single malt from Loch Lomond (Inchmurrin) distillery, distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2024. It was matured in a 1st fill ex-bourbon barrel and is non-chill filtered with natural colour. The specific bottling name is 'Almost Angelic'.

Initial whiff of nail polish remover fading to fruits galore – gooseberries, kiwi, green grapes, melon, apples and banana, doused in strong peach schnapps. With water, a fragrant jasmine blossom-framed garden pathway on a moonlit night.
Palate
Mouth puckering, like a spicy Thai chicken stir fry. Vanilla pudding with fresh blueberries, and a fruit salad with whipped cream and honey.
Finish
Sweet fruitiness of mango and serrano ham.
