Description

Originally a South Ayrshire cattle farm, Lochlea pivoted to barley growing with the aim of establishing a distillery and began producing spirit in 2018. This independent and family-owned distillery benefits from the expertise of ex-Laphroaig distillery manager John Campbell. This very special Lochlea was aged in a single ex-Islay whisky barrel, filled in April 2019 and bottled in October 2023 at 61.5% abv. Free from chill filtration and at natural colour, this Lowland expression consists of just 248 individually numbered bottles, selected by the UK Lochlea team. [cite: 1, 3, 4, Scotch Whisky Auctions]
