Description
Long John is named for 'Long' John Macdonald, who founded Ben Nevis distillery in 1825 and was apparently an infamous bootlegger. A tall man (hence the nickname), John created the blend in 1911 but they changed hands and names several times before parent company Whitbread purchased the spiritual home of the Ben Nevis distillery and renamed the company Long John International Ltd. Today it finds it ... Long John is a classic blended Scotch crafted from a selection of 30 Scottish Highland and Island malt and grain whiskies, with spirits from the Tormore distillery forming the heart of the blend.
