Description

Distilled at the Springbank distillery in Campbeltown, Longrow 100° Proof Batch No.1 is the first batch of the 100° Proof range, introduced in 2025 to replace the annual Longrow Red release. [9, 14] This heavily peated single malt was matured for almost four years in refill bourbon casks and then transferred into refill Pinot Noir casks for a further two years, before being bottled at a strength of 57.1% ABV. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 16] It is non-chill filtered and has a peating level of 50-55 ppm. [1, 3, 5, 8]

Nose
The peat smoke influence presents in medicinal, TCP notes, along with redcurrants, sweet apples, vanilla, musty grape, toffee, fudge, and a bonfire wood smoke. [2, 3, 4, 6, 11, 13]
Palate
Softer on the palate, the peat smoke has a more earthy, musty element, with notes of creme brulee, vanilla, almonds, dry, sooty smoke, spicy pepper, stewed red apple, plum, chocolate, and cayenne pepper. [2, 3, 4, 6, 11, 12, 13]
Finish
Long and persistent with sweet hints of red cola cubes, strawberry laces, marzipan, and a lingering smoky character. [2, 3, 4, 6, 11, 13]
