Description

A 16-year-old Longrow single malt Duty paid sample - originally intended for trade purposes only. Distilled on the 13th of October 2006 and bottled from a fresh Madeira cask stored in warehouse number 15 before being bottled on the 5th of September 2023.

Nose
Dark leather, bresaola, chocolate ganache, dried fruits (figs, raisins, medjool dates), fresh rhubarb, mineralic salinity, and a barest hint of soft ash smoke.
Palate
More dates and maple syrup, lightly smoked brisket, macerated raspberries and tayberries, silky texture, cocoa powder dusted truffles, machiato, bergamot, and strawberry laces. A faint wisp of smoke integrates throughout.
Finish
The smoke is present in the background, contributing to an elegant and poised dram that drinks like a much older whisky.
