There’s a clear, appealing contrast here: light peat smoke sits alongside vanilla, then the palate brings smoky peat together with sweet toffee and oak. That balance gives the smoke company rather than letting it dominate, which suits my preference for flavours with a sweeter or softer counterpoint. The lingering creamy bourbon sweetness, with subtle smoke, sounds like a satisfying way for the character to carry through the finish.
