Description

A revered single malt distillery in Campbeltown that has operated since 1828. It is today owned by J&A Mitchell & Co who produce three single malt styles there, including the heavily-peated Longrow. This "Hand Filled Distillery Exclusive" is a double-distilled, heavily peated single malt, matured in oak for an undisclosed period and bottled at cask strength. It is non-chill filtered and has natural colouring.

Oily and industrial. Lots of machine shop oil. Prunes. Salt, minerals, wet rocks, and mud. Peat phenols. Burnt caramel. Iron filings, fresh blood. Orange and cranberry. Smoke and a meaty stink. Vanilla.
Palate
Syrupy thick and mouth coating. Super sharp and intense, then tart sweetness. Phenolic, orange, bittersweet citrus, artificial grape flavor, and machine oil. Earthy.
Finish
Long finish, full of lemon pith and medicine. Woody tannins.
