Nose
Orange marmalade spread across buttery toast, with hints of honey sweetness, gristy cereal, rubbed petals, and pastry. Aromas of milk and marmalade develop.
Palate
Smooth, medium-bodied with oily nuttiness, barley, and hints of bourbon and malt extract. Initially tart fruitiness (strawberries and raspberries) becoming sweeter, like strawberry blancmange, then spicy notes of ginger, clove, and cinnamon. Sherry influence is present but not overpowering.
Finish
Medium finish with chewy oak and pepper on the tail. Initial hint of butter on malted bread quickly dissipates to a long drying finish with an oaky vanilla note.
