Description

The Macallan 2005 Exceptional Cask (2017 Release) is a remarkable single malt Scotch whisky, part of the esteemed Exceptional Cask series. This limited edition was distilled on March 30, 2005, and bottled in 2017 after maturing in a single European oak sherry butt. Selected by Master Distiller Bob Dalgarno, this particular release, Cask No. 9, was a distillery-only offering with an outturn of 598 bottles. It is noted for its rich dried fruits, honey, and warm spices on the nose, a palate of toffee, dark chocolate, citrus zest, and subtle oak, leading to a sweet and lingering finish. The whisky is non-chill filtered and bottled at a robust 66.1% ABV.
