Nose
Rich and chocolatey, with dried orange peel, dried fruits, sherry, nuts, a trace of sulphur, polished oak, gentle spice, and hints of leather.
Palate
Smooth and voluptuous, sweetish to start but tannic-dry overall, with sherry, Christmas cake (burnt edges), caramel, raisin, fig, toffee, warm baking spice, mature wood, a smooth, rounded texture, oily but a touch thin, maraschino cherry syrup, oak, cinnamon raisin oatmeal, Seville oranges, a bit of tar, and cigar tobacco.
Finish
Full-bodied, long and elegant, with lingering sherry sweetness, soft oak, warming spice, dried fruit, toffee and tobacco notes that linger on and on, almost astringent but somehow sweet.
