- Nose
- Orange marmalade spread across buttery toast, alongside a hint of honey sweetness. Gives way to fruity, creamy notes reminiscent of strawberry ice cream. A clean, crisp nose with gristy cereal sweetness, rubbed petals and hints of pastry. Aromas of milk and marmalade develop with time in the glass.
- Palate
- Initially, a slightly tart fruitiness, strawberries and raspberries, which becomes sweeter until it becomes like drinking strawberry blancmange. This sweetness suddenly dissipates into a spicy note, holding on the tongue for one second per year of age revealing ginger, clove, and cinnamon. There's a sherry influence, but not overpowering compared to some modern drams. Smooth, medium-bodied palate with oily nuttiness, barley, hints of bourbon and malt extract. Creamy and rounded.
- Finish
- Initial hint of butter on malted bread quickly dissipates to give a long drying finish with an oaky vanilla note. Medium finish with chewy oak and pepper on the tail.

This has a pleasing pull between the dried-fruit and sherry sweetness and the cinnamon and nutmeg. The spice gives the sweeter notes some shape without taking over, while the creamy palate and lingering sherry sweetness keep the character rounded. It sounds more warming and mellow than sharply peppery, but that balance is appealing: familiar flavours, with enough spice to keep things from feeling too sweet.
Nose: Orange citrus, raisins, cherries, vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of Oloroso sherry.Palate: Creamy and smooth, with Oloroso sherry, dried fruits, cinnamon, oak, and spice.Finish: Sweet cream, vanilla, hazelnut, lingering sherry sweetness, and a hint of spice.
