Nose
Enticing aromas of raisin, candied citrus, and toffee, elevated by subtle traces of chocolate-covered dates and polished mahogany. Full of raisins and blackberries, later also raspberries and jammy plums. Chocolate notes and tobacco follow closely. Hints of caramelized almonds, walnuts, cinnamon and a little vanilla in the background, as well as light eucalyptus and polished thuja wood.
Palate
A seamless fusion of dark fruit compote, molasses, and warm baking spice, enveloped in The Macallan's signature silky texture and a mild hint of clove. Very rich again, with a lot of dark chocolate now, (Turkish) coffee, prunes and tobacco. Liquorice and peppermint. Bread crust, even a light smoky note in the background. Then treacle and hints of forest fruit jam. Some cloves and herbal notes adding freshness. Subtle meaty and leafy notes.
Finish
Long and satisfying, leaving lingering notes of sherry-soaked oak, gently spiced cocoa, and a whisper of sweet tobacco. Long and dark, with more dates, raisins, brown bread and a touch of smoky wood.
