Description

An exact replica of the bottles of whisky left in Antarctica by Sir Ernest Shackleton during his South Pole expedition between 1907 and 1909. The whisky was recreated down to the very last detail by Whyte & Mackay master blender, Richard Paterson. This replica bottle of Mackinlay's blended Scotch contains whiskies from Speyside, the Islands and the Highlands. The recipe even includes some very rare 1983 Glen Mhor.

Nose
Rich caramel and sherry fruits mingle with cooked apples, lemon oil, chocolate fudge, and a subtle herbal peat, accented by vanilla, pineapple, and cinnamon.
Palate
Earthy malt and restrained sweetness lead to tart nectarines, lemon, mint, milk chocolate, and an assertive peat, complemented by spicy toffee, treacle, and orange rind.
Finish
A short, dry finish with lingering lemon, chocolate, and peat, evolving into salty, woody, and yeasty notes with a hint of chilli.
