Nose: An assertive nutty and sawn timber aroma, with warm yeasty bread dough, linseed oil, and a touch of aniseed. Notes of honey, oatcakes, digestive biscuits, wood varnish, green apples, pears, subtle baking spices, and almond flakes.
Palate: A pleasing warming spice with freshly baked cinnamon and cardamom buns, juicy baked apples, raisins, pears, and sweet baked peach melba. Light-bodied and oak-led, with honey and biscuit notes, woody spice, and hints of blueberries, blackberries, and orange peel.
Finish: More bakery notes of peach and custard pastry. A wonderfully creamy mouthfeel, sweet and rewarding, with fresh minty and spicy notes.

This has a lovely bakery-and-fruit thread: warm bread dough on the nose leads into cinnamon and cardamom buns, baked apples and pears on the palate. The light body and oak-led character keep it from feeling especially weighty, while the peach and custard pastry on the finish give it a sweet, creamy landing. A relaxed, appealing direction for a single malt, with enough woody spice to balance the softer pastry notes.
