Nose
Sweet and fruity with notes of fresh fruits, vanilla, baked caramel, apples, oranges, marzipan, custard, honey, heather, and a hint of sweet liquorice. It can also present as fragrant, herbal, grassy, with sandalwood, lemon, and lime.
Palate
Sweet fruits like apple, melon, and orange peel, mixed with peppery, grassy, and flinty notes. Dusty malt, lemon, honey, ginger, and vanilla are present. Some describe it as intensely spicy, with licorice, cereal notes, and a generic bitterness. It can be soft, with barley sugar, toffee, cinnamon, wood oil, and a hint of salt.
Finish
Gentle and slowly fading, often on the sweet side. Medium long, with lemon zest and oak spice. Can be quite dry, with a spicy intensity fading into licorice. Fresh fruitiness, cinnamon, marzipan, vanilla, honey, and dusty malt can carry over, sometimes with a perfumey and bitter oakiness and a slight nuttiness.
