Description

In 1985, Hombo Breweries opened the Mars Shinshu distillery in Miyata village at the foot of the Komagatake Alps in Japan's Nagano prefecture. This Mars 8 Year Old Asagi Madara 2020 Release is a limited edition blended Japanese whisky, bottled in 2020 to commemorate the renovation and expansion of the Shinshu Distillery, 35 years after its establishment. The label features the Asagi Madara (Chestnut Tiger) butterfly, painted by Tomoko Nakanoma, which visits Miyada Village annually. The whisky is a blend of malt and grain whiskies, both matured for at least 8 years, with the malt component distilled at Mars and matured in Bourbon, American oak, and Sherry casks. It is unpeated and non-chill filtered.
