Mars Komagatake IPA Cask Finish 2023 is a Japanese single malt whisky from the Shinshu Mars distillery, nestled in the Central Alps of Nagano Prefecture. This limited edition release is initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels and then finished for approximately 6 months in IPA beer casks from the neighboring Minami Shinshu Brewery. It offers vibrant citrus, tropical sweetness, and distinctive hop-bitterness tones, providing a modern craft-whisky experience.

Palate
Sweet and malty with citrus, ruby red grapefruit peel, candied orange, pine, pineapple cake, ginger, grape skin, elderflower syrup, and milk chocolate.
Finish
Long and warm, with a pleasant hop-like aftertaste, sweet and bitter with a clear beer influence, lightly smoky, brittle, slightly oily and non-drying, with lingering fruity aspects and light red apple sauce flavors.
