Nose
Fine, ethereal. A combination of fresh fruit (apple, pear), citrus fruit (lemon, grapefruit), coconut milk and vanilla. Intense smoke, spices (clove, nutmeg) and a very compact and salty peat. Malted barley. Herbaceous (rosemary, wicker, chervil).
Palate
Lively, elegant. Peat, unctuous yet dry, rooty (gentian, ginseng), smoky (Havana cigar), spicy (cumin), floral (violet, hyacinth) and lemony. Profoundly malty and vegetal (aniseed, star anise). Mentholated freshness.
Finish
Long, full-bodied. Pleasant richness (pistachio flan, crème brûlée). Peat becomes less intense, iridescent colours. Flavours of walnut, almond and green olive. Liquorice and dark chocolate, green tea and dried bay leaf.
