Description

This is the second release in Mars Whisky's "The Lucky Cat" series, a blended whisky from the Mars Shinshu distillery in Nagano, Japan. Named "Ash '99" as a tribute to the distillery owner's cat, this limited edition was finished in ex-bourbon and sherry casks. Only 4,300 bottles were released in 2016, and it quickly sold out after its launch.

Minty, crisp, and fruity aromas of orange, apple, lemon, lime zest, clementine, pomegranate, and rose water, with hints of Turkish delight and sandalwood.
Palate
A gentle, syrupy sweetness with notes of candied orange, citrus, creamy vanilla, baked dough, raw cookie dough, cooked apple, mandarin, butterscotch, melon, ginger, chili pepper, and cedar spice.
Finish
Very well-balanced and soft, with mint, a pleasant fruitiness, and a slow crescendo of spices that eventually fades.
