Michter's Shenk's Homestead Sour Mash Whiskey is part of Michter's Legacy Series, honoring John Shenk who founded a distillery in 1753 that later became Michter's. This 2018 release is a full-bodied small batch Kentucky Sour Mash Whiskey, bottled at 45.6% ABV. It features a rye-forward profile, with a portion of the whiskey finished in 24-month air-dried French Oak barrels that were specially toasted. It is technically not a bourbon or rye, but a blend of both.
