Description

Midleton Dair Ghaelach Knockrath Forest Tree No. 7 is a Single Pot Still Irish whiskey, part of the Dair Ghaelach (Irish Oak) collection. This expression was initially matured in American Oak Bourbon barrels and then finished for approximately two years in virgin native Irish Oak Hogshead casks sourced from the Knockrath Estate in County Wicklow. This is the third release in the Dair Ghaelach series, highlighting the unique influence of individual Irish oak trees on the whiskey's character.

Nose
Pot still spices, toasted wood, vanilla, roasted coffee, fresh fruit (orchard to tropical), cashews, pecans, vanilla cream buns, buttered toast, and dusty dry earthiness.
Palate
Classic pot still spices, luscious texture, sweet notes of chocolate and honeycomb, apples, pears, apricots, mangos, pepper, nutmeg, orange, pecan pie, milk chocolate, vanilla cream, caramel, cloves, and subtle oak bitterness.
Finish
Remarkably long with fruit and spices fading, allowing the Irish Oak to have the final say, with notes of pepperiness, char, and mentholated wood.
