Nose
Opens with aromas of cedarwood, roasted coffee beans and vanilla along with hints of nutmeg spice and cinnamon. Delicate citrus fruits and sweet pear slowly appear along with floral honey that give balance to the rich charred oak influence. Vanilla and toffee, with a touch of barley and understated oak. Slightly peppery. Satisfying and charming aromas.
Palate
Silky texture with sweet vanilla and caramelised brown sugar notes reminiscent of crème brûlée, while the spices dance and linger for a time until the soft wood tannins from the old oak appear, adding a mellow and full-bodied character, complementing the delicate fruits and dairy chocolate fudge. Pepper, malt loaf, vanilla and custard. Very smooth with a lime touch. Very powerful and complex. Smooth texture. Malty pot still character with notes of caramel, complex fruit, vanilla, honey, dark sweets, dried berries, whipped cream and fresh crepes.
Finish
Rich and full bodied, with the fruits and spices quietly fading, allowing the oak to have the final word. Peppercorn, light oak and light malt drinks. Sweet syrup. Elegant long lasting aftertaste. Long and malty with notes of wood, fruit and dark sweets that fade to a light grain whiskey profile.
