Description

One of a trio of lost Inverness distilleries, once located on Millburn Road in the east of the city. Operational in bursts between 1805 and 1985, it was finally closed by the Distillers Company which deemed it surplus to requirements and is now home to a hotel chain. Cadenhead's is the oldest independent bottling company in Scotland and one of the earliest and foremost advocates for the single malt category.

Nose
Complex yet not overwhelming. Smooth and rich aromas mingle with desiccated coconut, Turkish delight, some green sour grape, sliced pears and banana fritters, with a drop of water a nice brioche with toasted farmhouse bread and fresh churned butter.
Palate
Very smooth with a caramel texture. A little Highland funk and classic speyside like mellow tones lead the front of the palate, Honey and sweet hints of ginger and allspice, A deliciously tempting mid palate of creamy toffee, vanilla and honey, a little hint of mint and herbal tangy notes leading into a smooth and rich fruity flavour with that original Turkish delight rose and strawberry like flavour with a dash of dry oak and spice.
Finish
Rich and smooth.
