Description

Miltonduff is a vital component to the Ballantine's range and the majority of its output is used in the world's second best selling blended whisky. Interestingly the distillery once used triple distillation and also Lomond Stills for a while, although not at the same time. Nose
Soft and inviting with ripe pear, yellow apple and a touch of peach. Honey, vanilla and gentle maltiness. Floral notes, a hint of orange peel and soft spice leaning toward cinnamon and ginger. Rich fruity and sweet with peaches in syrup, juicy sweet orange and creamy soft toffee with a hint of toasted almonds, and subtle oak.
Palate
Rounded and smooth with honeyed sweetness, apple compote and creamy vanilla. Light toffee, malty biscuits and a subtle nutty note come forward. Elegant and approachable throughout, with a fine spicy tension adding a little extra depth. Sweet scented floral flavours. Extremely smooth with milk chocolate flavours and hints of cinnamon spice, cloves and liquorice root in the background. Dark chocolate, cloves, delicate floral tones.
Finish
Medium length and soft with lingering fruit, honey and vanilla. Slightly drier toward the end, with light spice and gentle malty warmth. Very long, warm and sweet. Medium-length, spicy malt, lingering aftertaste.
