Description

A single malt Japanese whisky from Nikka's Miyagikyo distillery, this expression was bottled in 2017 after being finished for at least 12 months in rum wood casks. It is a no age statement release, bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration. Only 3,500 bottles were released worldwide.

Lemon peel, new leather, mineral notes, a drizzle of floral honey, sugared almonds, fresh tropical fruit, velvety marzipan, flambéed peach, eucalyptus-like spice, dark caramel, hints of TCP and toast.
Palate
Heavy oak influence, maple syrup, pepper spice, creamy vanilla, lemon zest, herbaceous notes, tobacco, savoury, waxy, walnut, molasses golden syrup, burnt sultanas, chocolate, faint generic sticky tropical feel, coconut.
Finish
Oak spice, bergamot, fresh tropical fruits, bitter, roast-like, long mild to moderate chilli-like spicy burn.
