Nose
Rich and robust, with initial notes of dark fruit, such as raisins and plums. A distinct meaty character, typical of Mortlach, with hints of savoury spice. Subtle notes of dark chocolate and toffee, adding sweetness and depth. A touch of oak, providing a hint of spice.
Palate
Full-bodied and complex, with a velvety texture. Intense sherry notes, with a sweet and slightly syrupy character. Flavours of dark fruitcake, with hints of orange peel and spice. That classic Mortlach meatiness is present, adding a savoury dimension. Well-integrated oak notes provide structure.
Finish
Long and warming, with a lingering sweetness. The sherry notes persist, accompanied by a spicy dryness. A hint of dark chocolate and espresso emerges. Oaky notes fade slowly, leaving a pleasant warmth.
