Nose
Really intense deep sherry, old leather jacket, pipe tobacco, sundried grapes and figs, earthy soil, chicory/coffee mix, plasticine, a little sulfur, loads of dates, sour cherries & Extravecchio Balsamic. Syrupy and piney, chestnuts, custard, notes of prune, rich dry sherry and chocolate. Sweet beast of a sherry bomb with nuts, sandalwood, toffee, milk chocolate and a spicy kick.
Palate
Heavy, meaty, coffee, tobacco, maggi sauce and a slight metallic twang. Raisins, figs, maraschino cherry, clove, sticky toffee pudding, chestnut honey, cocoa, old furniture oak. Soft and silky yet bold, light sweetness with berry wine gums, herbs and gentle spice. Spicy and full, a bit citric with an oily and thick texture, hints of dark chocolate, vanilla, pepper, nuts, oranges, wood.
Finish
Lingers forever, coffee, dark chocolate, citrus peel, walnut & return of balsamic like notes and dunnage/old basement edge to the oak. Explodes with richness, dry sherry notes, dried fruit and warming oak. Long, chest-warming, sweet and ending on a lingering dry note.
