This exceptionally old and rare 'tea-spooned' malt pays homage to the founding fathers of independent malt bottlings. The unique style of cask was first developed at Balvenie Distillery by David Stewart. This special malt inspires the Murray McDavid Team today, as they further explore the Art of Maturation. MISSION GOLD presents the finest rare, vintage and prestigious whisky, from a traditional Victorian style maturation warehouse in Speyside. These outstanding whiskies have been nurtured over many years and bottled for their pure excellence, exceptional balance and all-round perfection. This malt was ex-bourbon hogsheads, and the whisky from the Speyside region has undergone a unique second maturation in Old Brandy casks from the Douro Valley. After its final three years in these Portuguese casks, the whisky has been bottled at 47.1% alc/vol.
