Description

The OMAR Harvest Series No. 5 Single Malt Whisky is a product of Nantou Distillery in Taiwan, known for its unique tropical fruit profile due to the warm climate accelerating maturation. This expression is crafted from a blend of whiskies matured primarily in first-fill and second-fill Bourbon casks, along with American white oak casks. It also incorporates whiskies finished in orange, lychee, and osmanthus casks, aiming to represent the abundant harvest of local fruits in Taiwan. It is non-chill filtered and bottled at 46% ABV, without added coloring, to preserve its natural aroma and palate.

Nose
A vanilla-forward aroma with notes of banana bread and ginger cream, complemented by a refreshing hint of mint. It also presents a salty, oceanic peatiness, alongside hints of smoked chicken, dried meat, and leather, finishing with sweet vanilla honey cream.
Palate
Sweet and slightly astringent upon entry, with flavors of lemon, candied fruit, sour oak, and white pepper. It evolves to reveal raspberry, peach, and a meaty taste with a touch of tannic dryness, followed by a fruity finish.
Finish
Vibrant and fruity, with cereal notes, citrus, and woody undertones dominating the retro-nasal aroma, offering a medium to long finish.
