Description
Nikka Coffey Grain is a signature grain whisky released in 2012 by Nikka Whisky, founded by Masataka Taketsuru. It is predominantly made from corn and distilled in traditional Coffey stills, which were imported from Scotland in 1963 and later moved to the Miyagikyo distillery in 1999. The whisky is matured in old American oak casks, including re-filled, remade, and re-charred casks, to deliver sweet and mellow flavors. This expression showcases the unique character of grain whiskies produced in Nikka's Coffey stills.
