Nikka Miyagikyo Single Malt is produced at Nikka's second distillery, Miyagikyo, founded in 1969 by Masataka Taketsuru in Sendai. It is known for its elegant, fruity, and floral character, achieved by using less peaty malt and indirect steam heating during distillation. This no-age-statement version was released in 2016 as a permanent core range product, showcasing the distillery's distinctive style. It features a strong influence from sherry casks, complemented by ex-bourbon and new American oak maturation, contributing to its depth and complexity.
