Description

A limited edition release celebrating Nikka's 90th anniversary, this world blended whisky incorporates whiskies from nine decades (1940s to 2020s) from Nikka's six distilleries, including Yoichi, Miyagikyo, Moji, Satsumatsukasa, Nishinomiya, and Ben Nevis in Scotland. It features over 50 whisky batches, including the oldest malt whisky reserve from Yoichi (1945) and Miyagikyo. Bottled at 48% ABV and non-chill filtered, it aims to maximize its distinct flavors and rich texture. The bottle is crafted using 'Edo-bori' carving and comes in a special wooden box.

Nose
A rich apple pie and raisin sweetness with toasty barrel-ageing notes lead into a gentle smokiness and the nostalgic scent of antique furniture. Complex and layered aromas give the impression of standing in the warehouse where the whisky has peacefully slumbered. Chocolaty peat, honey fragrances, medicinal and spicy notes (ginger, cinnamon).
Palate
Mellow oak with profound depth forms a base, structuring the spicy cinnamon, roasted nuts, and rich dark chocolate aromas. A subtle bitterness from the peat is balanced by sweet apricot jam and maple syrup, while an overall warmth gives the impression of sitting in front of a fireplace. Dark chocolate, apricot, citrus fruit (grapefruit, lemon), peat.
Finish
Gentle peat is enveloped by the full body, with sweet and sour notes introducing a pleasant bitterness on a very long finish. Cocoa, coffee, orange.
