Description

An old release, non-age statement blend from Nikka, beautifully presented in a white porcelain decanter which celebrates the Year of the Ox. This exquisitely crafted decanter represents a boy resting on the back of a bull, a scene from a famous Japanese literary story. Nikka produced several versions of these bottles in the 1990s.

Malty with notes of honey, caramel, cooked apples, porridge oats, pear, beeswax, and a touch of nuts. It can also present as fresh, floral, fruity, with hints of cinnamon, oak, and a mild peat aroma.
Palate
Rich, malty, and fruity, with flavors of orange zest, toffee, oak, peanut butter, cocoa, apple, pear, tropical fruits, lemon citrus, chocolate, banana, ginger, and caramel. It is described as oily, smooth, and spicy.
Finish
Medium to medium-short, with stewed fruits, cloves, cinnamon, digestive biscuits, banana, milk chocolate, and hints of pepper. Oak and a slight astringency may also be present.
