Description

Taketsuru Pure Malt is a blended malt whisky named after Nikka's founder Masataka Taketsuru, who brought whisky-making expertise to Japan. This expression, launched in 2020 with a refined blend and label, highlights the complexity and precision of blending inherited from Masataka. It is a blend of malt whiskies from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, offering a smooth, fruity, and slightly smoky flavor profile, making it an ideal entry point into the world of Nikka.

Palate
Round, medium-bodied, and quite sweet with pleasant sweet spice, cereals, candied fruit, chocolate, peppery ashes, caramel, and orchard fruits. Silky texture with profound sweetness and richness of malt, along with a deep, dense peatiness. Stone fruits, cocoa, and soft peat are also present.
