Nose
Fresh and herbaceous with hints of ripe fruits like apple, pear, banana, and citrus (lemon, orange). Subtle peat smoke, vanilla, light salted caramel, ginger, cinnamon, and pastry notes. Some sources also mention sooty smoke, white flowers, and a trace of brine.
Palate
Smooth and lively, with a warming character. Earthy peat and sweet undertones of stewed fruit, vanilla, and honey. Fresh and peppery at first, evolving into soft, creamy pastry flavors. A slight saltiness and maritime edge, with black pepper, oak, and dark chocolate. Oily yet crisp mouthfeel.
Finish
Long and smoky, fading into dry oak and lightly bitter herbs. Medium length, round, and clean, with flavors of wetland balancing oaky aromas.
