- Nose
- Dry and herbal, like a mixture of drying hay and potpourri, with port tannins, mushy apples, plum juice, raisins, prunes, brininess, allspice, cloves, rosemary, rye, light vanilla, and light brown sugar. Also notes of toffee, allspice, wood, rich grains, toasted grain, dark fruit, vinous tones, and brighter citrus.
- Palate
- Warm and full of dry port tannins, herbal drying hay, dried currants, figs, clean citrus zest, allspice, cloves, ginger, white pepper, rye toast with stewed cinnamon apple and light brown sugar compote, orange blossom honey, new oak, piney sweet and smokey barrel char, supple leather. Also notes of sweet brown sugar, maple syrup, green pepper, grass, austere rye grainy spice, lemon citrus, almonds, green peppercorn, ripe fig, spearmint, bold rye spice, dark chocolate, molasses, charred oak, and cinnamon and orange zest.
- Finish
- Long, dry and warm, with herbal cloves, rye, citrus zest, piney char, leather. Also notes of oak, caramel, and a gentle rye pepper tingle.
