Description
The North British Distillery company was originally founded in 1885 by a conglomerate of blenders who were tired of DCLs monopoly on grain whisky. The distillery was built in the Gorgie district of Edinburgh, and grew rapidly over the years, with their continuous stills currently able to churn out between 35000 - 40000 litres of spirit every hour. Ironically the company is now partly owned by Diag. This is a rare official bottling of North British, a single grain whisky produced in the heart of Edinburgh. Distilled in 1980 and bottled at an impressive cask strength of 60.3%, originally only available to employees of the distillery.
