Description

Clan Denny holds an important role as the Douglas Laing and Hunter Hamilton home of independent bottlings of single grain whiskies; although single malt and blended whiskies are also bottled under the brand. The spirits in this range are aged from around seven to fifty years old and are bottled at natural cask strength as small batch releases. Clan Denny acts as an output for showcasing grain whiskies. This is a spectacular 37 year old Grain whisky from the now closed North of Scotland distillery.

Nose
Rolling tobacco, plastic box, old varnish with aromatic cinnamon dusted dried fruit and candied lemon peel. A whiff of eucalyptus - somewhat reminiscent of a dry madeira.
Palate
Hydrated to approx. 40% yields a sweet, toffee apple with rich vanilla and caramel balanced by dry, bitter woody tannins.
Finish
Wafts of smoke and spice emerge in the still toffee influenced mocha coffee, woody finish.
