Description

A former grain whisky producer and the first distillery venture of George P. Christie who later opened Speyside. Only short-lived, it only operated from 1958 until 1980 when Christie shut it down in anticipation of the era of oversupply known as the "whisky loch."

Nose
Lots of woody flavors. Wood glue, pine resin, fir cone, dusty oak and hints of charred beech. With some time, vanilla, toffee, bitter citrus fruits and raspberries come to light.
Palate
Smooth and almost silky. A nice mixture between sweetish red fruits and bitter citrus fruits (grapefruits and blood oranges). Followed by nougat, pepper and chocolate oatmeal.
Finish
Long and smooth with orange toffee and pine resin.
