Description

Blended Scotch 2012 North Star 10 Year Old. North Star Spirits was founded in Glasgow in 2016 by Iain Croucher. They have since developed a strong reputation for bottling fantastic single cask and small batch whiskies, as well as the much-lauded Vega and Spica blends. This intriguing blended Scotch whisky, distilled in 2012 and matured for 10 years, was bottled by North Star Spirits in 2022. It is a release in the Cask Series 021, a vatting of a sherry butt matured malt whisky combined with some grain whisky, bottled at 46.1% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour, as a limited release of 802 bottles.

Peach melba & a flat white; creamy notes of porridge and coffee, with soft stone fruits and vanilla in tow; sweet raspberry bon bons, touch of lemon sherbet, grapes, orange and a hint of cream.
Palate
Raspberry Liquorice twirls; biscuity malt and toffee are joined by hints of zingy red fruit and cinnamon, with a touch of fennel and oaken spice beneath; tastes of blackberry and raspberry sweets, with a hint of lemon and cream.
Finish
Frosted bon bons – a sherbet dip; lemon peel, barley sugar sweeties, syrupy flapjack, and a sprinkle of pepper; medium sweet finish, raspberry still dominates.
