Nose
Immediate and confident; rapidly gaining intensity. Warming and sweet: oily, waxy and nutty, balanced by delicate ripe orchard fruits. Notes of almondy fruit cake, Christmas pudding, malty cereal, aromatic orange, brine, smoke, menthol, and pine resin. Aromas of citrus, sea salt, and sweet spices.
Palate
Dense and coating, spicy, sweet, yet menthol-fresh. Filling and warming, with chewiness of rich fruit-bread, hints of orange zest and clove, becoming drier, minty, with crisp green apple. Smooth blend of orange, pear, smoky malt, dried fruits, and a touch of brine. Soft, sweet and creamy with notes of crumbly fudge, brown sugar, salted caramel, vanilla essence, plump juicy sultana, baked apple with cinnamon and cocoa powder, fresh lemon zest, and malty biscuit.
Finish
Long and syrupy at first, then drying, with elegant coating tannins rich in dark chocolate character. Later, pine-fresh. Cleansing yet chewy, with a trace of late, slightly cedary, smoke. Lingering notes of smoke and sea salt. Malty finish with toasty oak and spice. Sweet and fruity characteristics slowly fade, leaving smoky aspect and hints of wood and baking spices.
