- Nose
- Fruity and pungent; salty sea breezes, grapes, orange, hints of smoke - massively complex. Stone fruit and floral notes up front with a light coastal peat drifting in behind. Buttery brown sugar, sweet caramel, honey, vanilla, dark fruits, raisin, plum, toasted oak, baking spice.
- Palate
- Soft malt, wave upon wave of delicate yet rich fruit carried on a salty tide. Creamy and smooth with sweet, gently grapey notes that develop into waves of malty flavour, held together by a backbone of sea salt and gentle white-pepper spice. Light peat, salt, briny, rich dark fruits, raisin, plum, chocolate-covered Raisinet candies, sweet caramel and brown sugar, vanilla, oak, cinnamon, spice, pepper. Fruity and woody with that same smoke underneath.
- Finish
- Sweetened Jamaican coffee and oak, with an attractive malt-biscuit effect as it dies down. Long, sweet-smoky and clean, with attractive oak spice and a lightly peppery aftertaste. Smooth, long finish with a rich oily mouthfeel – leaves you with bold dark fruits, buttery caramel and brown sugar, oak, and lingering pepper spice on the tail end. Long, dry, sweet-smoky, oak-spice.
