Nose
Very malt forward, linseed oil, old books, there's a little fruit but it's more like candied citrus and pineapple, the sherry provides a kind of yeasty, nutty counterbalance, a little sulfur but hard to say if its' cask or spirit, definetely not grape-y.
Palate
Tobacco, all the tradional malty biscuits things, a little grassy, a nice freshness compared to nose, a little floral/fruity thing like apple blossom, nice gristy grains, old books again, an old piece of waxpaper that was used to wrap fruitcake... I know sounds like pretentious crap but it just has that kind of hard to grasp feeling about it.
Finish
Texture is thin but has a surprising spicy bite on the way down, despite the 40%ABV, overbrewed tea and digestive biscuits linger.
