Description

The Pulteney distillery was founded in 1826 by James Henderson in the historic Caithness fishing port of Wick and has changed hands many times over the years. It is currently the second best seller in the Inver House stable. In 1930 production ceased at Pulteney, due to the introduction of prohibition in Wick in an attempt to curb drunkenness. Palate
Sweet, soft, delicately complex, chewy vanilla, warm spices, fresh fruit salad, coconut, sherbet liveliness, thin velvet texture, elegant oak, drying on soft spices, dry grassy notes, salt, lemon, malty sweetness, hints of peat, hot alcohol.
Finish
Lingering warm, relatively short, thin and almost watery, a bit oaky, fruity, dry, spicy, bitter, lemon, salt.
