Description

A versatile Scotch whisky distillery in Alexandria and named after the famous loch to its north. It was built in 1966 with the intention of being fully self-reliant in its blending responsibilities by producing a variety of single malt and grain whiskies on the same site.

Overripe apricots and bananas, pineapple and orange, vanilla, tangerine, herbaceous notes, pine sap, menthol, eucalyptus, dusty sandalwood. With water: heightened prickliness, dusty character, mango, guava.
Palate
Dust, apricot, pineapple, orange, wood tannins, coffee, ginger, mildly prickly sugary sensation, subtle chalky note, sourness, woodiness, ashy mouthfeel, spent black tea leaves. With water: minimises ashy characteristic, adds pepper.
Finish
Long and warm, citrus and wood, grapefruit, abundance of dark chocolate.
