Nose
After the slightest whiff of smoke, a dizzying array of Manuka honey, prickly spice and bourboneque red liquorice takes over. Fragrant toasted barley, dried grass, a little kipper smoke, citrus peels, green apple and brown sugar, with smoky notes, fruit, honey sweetness, peat, nuts, oak, and salt.
Palate
This melt-in-the-mouth malt has profound flavours crashing in like waves. Sublimely silky and studded with oak-like honey, followed by a hefty second wave of spice. A cloudy, smoky feel coats the roof of the mouth, leaving a tidal wave of dry molasses, peaty soot and a degree of copper. Honeyed oak and fruity coffee with Islay peat, spicy porridge, lime, dry toast, baked apple sweetness, green notes, dark chocolate, and oak spice.
Finish
Bold has a light finish with a tinge of copper slowly making its presence known. A gorgeous smoked mocha shaped by delicate and intricate spices, peaty, peppered oak, with notes of fruity sweetness, salt, peat, and hints of chocolate.
