Description

A Welsh whisky distillery that revived the nation's distilling heritage when it first opened in 2000, the first in Wales for over a hundred years. It was commissioned by The Welsh Whisky Company and makes use of a unique and specially designed Faraday still to produce its whisky. This is a limited release celebrating the Welsh Rugby team's superb achievement of winning the Grand Slam in 2012. It is matured in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Madeira casks.

Nose
Sweet, with notes of cream toffee, rich fruit, raisins, red grapes, cloves, prunes, vanilla, and oak tannins. Hints of red berries (strawberries, raspberries, cranberries), green grape, wine gums, citrus, honey, orange marmalade, and a touch of peppery spice.
Palate
Crisp and finely rounded, with sweetness balancing an appetising dryness. Flavours of dried fruits, cinnamon spice, white pepper, sweet fudge, vanilla, and caramel. Also notes of juicy lemons, limes, lemongrass, fresh mint, tropical fruit, apples, pears, and ginger-spiciness.
Finish
Medium to long, with lingering notes of tropical fruit, raisins, vanilla, dried figs, toasted oak, and light spice. A touch of salty oak, musty fruit, and a custardy note.
