Description

Myth and Legend are two ambitiously but aptly named whiskies from Welsh distillers Penderyn. This is the sweeter and fruitier of the two, a lively little malt that's been painstakingly aged in bourbon casks. It is a single malt whisky matured in a range of specially selected ex-bourbon and rejuvenated oak casks, bottled at 40% abv. This whisky has a Kosher certificate and is part of the Penderyn Dragon whisky range, first introduced in 2015.

Nose
Fresh and lively, with mixed citrus fruits mingling with apple, pear drops, and a hint of tropical fruits. Notes of pale, floral honey, poached pear, juicy orange, sticky raisins, dried red fruits, and passionfruit are present.
Palate
Sweetness dominates, followed by refreshing bitterness and mixed fruits. Honey, citrus, and a pronounced wine-y-ness are evident, along with dried cherries, caramelized sugar, and deeper tropical fruit notes. Sticky vanilla bean, malt syrup, almond toffee, and hints of fruitcake, with sharp oak, hot cinnamon, and candied ginger.
Finish
Medium length, with winey fruit notes, youthful grippy oak, candied ginger, and allspice lingering. Memories of a lively and light style of whisky that is easy to drink, with sweetness, vanilla, and citrus.
